About the project

Codema has been appointed by Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin) to develop an Energy Policy and Sustainable Energy Action Plan for the organisation.

TU Dublin is a dynamic institution of higher learning in Ireland, established through the merger of three existing institutes of technology in the Dublin area. It stands as Ireland’s first technological university. TU Dublin provides a wide array of undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs across disciplines such as arts, business, sciences, and engineering. Catering to approximately 28,500 students and employing around 2,000 academic and support staff, the university operates across three primary campuses located in Grangegorman, Blanchardstown, and Tallaght, in addition to several other smaller sites. These facilities offer state-of-the-art resources and a collaborative environment to support both learning and teaching.

As part of this work, Codema will develop a high level and integrated Energy Policy Statement, outlining TU Dublin’s commitment to compliance with legal obligations, energy management practices, commitments in relation to procurement, design for energy performance, and evidence gathering. The policy will set future directions for TU Dublin’s approach to energy-related activities and emissions.

Codema will also develop a Sustainable Energy Action Plan, a strategic planning document that lays out and assesses goals, opportunities, and pathways to reduce energy consumption and deliver an energy transition. It will present an improvement plan with prioritised opportunities and identify key strategic considerations for TU Dublin in delivering on energy-related emissions pathways.
