Mid-East Energy Unit
Supporting Kildare, Meath and Wicklow County Councils to meet their 2030 energy efficiency and emissions targets.
About the Mid-East Energy Unit
In January 2023, the Mid-East Energy Unit (MEEU) was initiated in partnership with Kildare, Meath and Wicklow County Councils. The core energy unit service is provided by Codema working in partnership with each of the local authorities. The short-term goal is to support the three local authorities in meeting their 2030 energy efficiency and emission targets through the identification and implementation of energy efficiency and low-carbon projects.
A part of our service to the mid-east local authorities was to review and update of current energy management practices and monitoring and reporting (M&R) systems with the view to helping them to fulfil their exemplary leadership role with respect to climate action.
Codema acts as the regional coordinator with the Mid-East Energy Unit and provides services as agreed in the three-year contract.
