About this team

Codema’s District Heating team is dedicated to accelerating the development of low-carbon, affordable and efficient heating solutions. As district heating specialists, we work with public bodies, businesses, communities and policymakers to plan and implement sustainable heat networks that will play a key role in reducing carbon emissions and dependence on fossil fuels.

Why is district heating important for Ireland?

Ireland has one of the lowest levels of renewable heat usage in Europe, with over 90% of buildings still reliant on fossil fuels for heating. District heating offers a scalable, efficient and cost-effective way to decarbonise our heat supply, making use of local renewable and waste heat sources. With the potential to supply up to 54% of Ireland’s total heat demand, district heating has a key part to play in Ireland’s clean energy transition.
