About this team

Our Energy Planning team works to develop and understand the evidence base for the current and future needs of energy and climate transition for Dublin. The team’s energy and emissions modelling serve as the foundation for our evidence-based energy planning work, which supports decision makers with energy planning-related policy recommendations.

Decarbonising Zones

A Decarbonising Zone is a specific area that has been chosen by a local authority where a range of solutions are identified to address local, low-carbon energy, greenhouse gas emissions, and climate needs. These areas across the country will act as test-beds for innovation.
