About this team
At Codema, we firmly believe that the support and buy-in of the people of Dublin is an essential part in moving our capital away from fossil fuels. We feel that meaningful public engagement and clear, honest communication in how we make Dublin a clean, healthy and sustainable European capital are just as important as the technical solutions that are needed.
This is where our Awareness, Communications and Engagement team comes in, bringing together a wide range of experience across energy and climate awareness, communications and public engagement. The team supports the wider organisation with best-practice public participation and communication techniques across all of our projects. A core part of our work is supporting the public to better understand their own energy use, through our Home Energy Saving Kits and Think Energy campaign, as well as informing and engaging people living, working and studying in Dublin on how they can play a role in shaping Dublin’s future as a low-carbon county.

Suzanne is Executive Manager of Codema's Awareness, Communications, and Engagement team and has been with Codema since 2009. She oversees all aspects of communications, including PR strategy, media management, event planning, and digital media. Suzanne led Codema's recent rebranding and digital refresh and played a key role in developing award-winning initiatives like Think Energy and the Home Energy Saving Kit. Before joining Codema, Suzanne worked in journalism and PR, including nearly five years at Newstalk 106-108FM. She holds a BA in Journalism, a Diploma in PR and Event Management, an Executive Diploma in Digital Marketing, and a Certificate in Internal Communications.

Katie joined the team in July 2020 and is Codema’s Public Engagement Manager. Katie is responsible for leading all public engagement projects within Codema such as developing a comprehensive community engagement process to support the development of Decarbonising Zones. Katie is the lead on the Zero Together project which has involved engaging a diverse group of stakeholders to collaborate on the best pathways to move Dublin towards net-zero. Katie holds a BSc in Marketing from DIT, a postgraduate diploma in Digital Marketing from the Digital Marketing Institute and a MSc in Climate Change: Policy, Media and Society from DCU.

Katia joined Codema in 2016. She holds a Masters of Architecture from UCD, a Certificate in Project Management, and diplomas in Digital Marketing and Graphic Design. She has written for the Independent, Passive House Plus and Architecture Ireland. Within the Project Funding & Facilitation team, Katia acted as Internal Communications Manager of the HeatNet NWE project, as well as the coordinator of the Sustainable Energy Communities programme in the Dublin & Mid-East Region. Within the Awareness, Communications & Engagement team, her responsibilities include the implementation of Codema’s branding, graphic design of materials, and assisting with social media and website management.

Gobnait holds a Bachelor of Design in Industrial Design from the NCAD and a Postgraduate Certificate in Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the UCD Innovation Academy.
In her early career her focus was across a range of consumer facing products and services. In recent years, she has redirected her work towards promoting and facilitating climate and biodiversity action, running events and workshops to support individuals and community groups.
Through the Think Energy and Home Energy Saving Kit programmes, she supports people and communities wishing to take an active role in saving energy and combating climate change.

Sarah joined the Codema team in March 2023 as our Public Engagement and Stakeholder Coordinator. Sarah holds a LL.B (Honours Degree) in Law and French from Trinity College Dublin and a Higher Diploma in Sustainability in Enterprise from University College Cork. Prior to joining Codema, Sarah worked as a Travel Officer with Green-Schools An Taisce where she was involved in delivering environmental education workshops and promoting sustainable travel modes to schools across the Greater Dublin Area.

Hannah joined the team in July 2023 and is Codema's Communications and Engagement Coordinator. Hannah holds an MSc. in Climate Change: Policy, Media and Society from DCU and a B.A. in Politics and Sociology from Maynooth University. Before joining Codema, Hannah worked for a number of years in the non-profit sector and more recently in the local government sector with a focus on digital communications and content management. Hannah also holds a Professional Diploma in Project Management from the UCD Professional Academy, and a Diploma in Digital Marketing from Irish Times Training.

Dublin Local Authority Climate Action Plans
Supporting the four Dublin Local Authorities to develop their Climate Action Plans.
Decarbonising Zones
A Decarbonising Zone is a specific area that has been chosen by a local authority where a range of solutions are identified to address local, low-carbon energy, greenhouse gas emissions, and climate needs. These areas across the country will act as test-beds for innovation.
Clondalkin Decarbonising Zone
Developing the evidence base and engaging the community in Clondalkin in the creation of South Dublin County Council’s Decarbonising Zone Plan.
