Purpose

At Codema, we believe in promoting a workplace that respects and values the unique identities and experiences of all individuals.

The purpose of our EDI policy is to ensure that every person connected to Codema, including employees, stakeholders, clients and visitors, is treated with dignity, fairness and respect. We aim to create an organisational culture that celebrates the rich tapestry of human diversity and embraces gender inclusivity, cultural inclusivity and disability inclusivity.

Our Equal opportunities and EDI policy is informed by the Employment Equality Acts 1998-2011 (as amended) and the Equal Status Acts 2000-2012 (as amended), which strictly prohibit direct and indirect discrimination, sexual harassment, harassment and victimisation based on nine specified equality grounds: gender, family status, civil status, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, ethnicity and membership of the traveller community.

Gender inclusivity

We actively promote gender inclusivity and will maintain an inclusive work environment where all employees feel empowered to express their gender identity openly and without fear of discrimination. We use inclusive language throughout our communications and recognise and respect individuals’ chosen pronouns and gender expressions.

It is the responsibility of every Manager in this company to support and communicate the Equal Opportunities Policy. Managers must encourage open discussion with their employees to identify and resolve any problem areas. All employees in turn must accept their personal responsibility to comply with this policy. This includes maintaining acceptable standards of behaviour at all times towards all colleagues and clients alike. 

 Employees are encouraged to raise questions or concerns about the types of discrimination in the workplace and are advised to bring these issues to the attention of the Senior Management team. The company assures its employees that any concerns or reports made will be without fear of reprisal. An employee engaging in any form of discrimination will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Procedure

The company will take appropriate disciplinary action towards an employee who fails to follow the company Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy. 

We provide confidential and accessible reporting mechanisms for incidents related to discrimination, harassment, or victimisation based on gender, culture, or disability. Codema is dedicated to promptly addressing concerns and ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
