Energy and Climate Awareness Officer

We are excited to announce that we are seeking a proactive and dynamic Energy and Climate Awareness Officer to lead our energy awareness initiatives.

Salary range: €42,000 - €47,000

About the role

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead Codema’s Think Energy campaign and manage the Home Energy Saving Kit programme. It’s ideal for someone who’s passionate about climate action and energy awareness, and enjoys working with communities, organisations and partners.

You won’t be doing this alone – our experienced teams from communications, engagement, admin and finance will support you every step of the way and will help you to set clear and achievable goals. This is a unique chance to make a real impact in tackling climate change while helping to shape innovative energy awareness initiatives across Dublin.

What you will do

Lead energy awareness initiatives
  • Be the main spokesperson for Codema’s energy awareness initiatives.
  • Deliver engaging talks, workshops and training sessions for communities and organisations.
  • Support public campaigns and events like Dublin Climate Action Week.
  • Develop and disseminate educational resources (brochures, infographics, guides) to promote energy awareness.
  • Collaborate with Codema’s Public and Stakeholder Engagement team to drive awareness and support initiatives in decarbonising zones and communities.
Manage and grow the Home Energy Saving Kit programme
  • Oversee day-to-day kit operations – including orders, inventory and client support.
  • Provide ongoing support and training for library staff and key partners.
  • Work with libraries, community groups and new partners to expand the programme.
  • Develop strategies to grow the reach, impact and funding of the initiative.
Drive strategic partnerships and growth
  • Help shape the future of Codema’s energy awareness programmes.
  • Build new partnerships and explore funding opportunities.
  • Tailor the kit for new audiences such as schools and businesses.
Oversee digital communications activities
  • Manage the ThinkEnergy.ie website and @energysavingkit social media channels.
  • Create engaging content (blogs, videos, etc.) for web and socials.
  • Grow the Think Energy e-newsletter audience and digital reach.

Minimum requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Degree in Communications / Marketing / Climate Change / Project Management / Environmental Science or similar discipline.
  • Proven experience in delivering engaging talks, presentations, workshops and events.
  • Proven experience in project coordination, particularly in energy awareness, education, or community engagement.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills to engage diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and identify growth opportunities for programmes and initiatives.
  • Strong time planning skills and the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational skills, including budget management and stock control.
  • Proficiency in digital media management, including website content management systems, social media channels and newsletter platforms.
  • Passionate about sustainability, energy efficiency, and climate action.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in English is essential.

Additional skills that would be a distinct advantage

  • Experience with Canva, or other design / graphical software.
  • Experience in developing communications collateral, such as brochures, infographics, etc.
  • Event management experience is desirable but not essential.

Location

The Codema office is located in Dublin city and is accessible by a range of sustainable transport modes. Secure bicycle parking is also available. The role is a mixture of remote and in-office working, with in-person work required for all events.
