Senior Management

Donna is responsible for driving Codema's strategy, providing direction, oversight and leadership. Donna is also a member of the Board of Codema directors.
She is known for driving the development of District Heating in Ireland over the past 10 years, and is a Director at the IrDEA and HeatWorks. Since taking on the CEO role in 2020, Codema has more than doubled in staff numbers, she has introduced innovations such as a 4 day week and an equal paid family leave policy for all staff.

Donna holds a BSc in Energy & Environmental Engineering and MSc in Energy Systems Planning & Management.

Edel is Codema’s Executive Manager (HR Lead) and has worked with the company since 2001. Edel has completed a BSc in Earth Science from University College Cork and an MSc in Environmental Resource Management in University College Dublin. During her time at Codema, she has gained a significant amount of experience in project management, working with various funding programmes at European and national level and is PMP accredited. Her current role as Executive Manager within HR & Operations involves human resource management and organisational development.

Joe has been working with Codema since 2005 and is the Executive Manager leading the Project Implementation team. He holds a BA/BAI Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, an MSc Sustainable Development of Dublin Institute of Technology and is a Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMPV). Joe is responsible for project development and implementation, Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) facilitation and the procurement of energy services. Joe played a key role in the development of Dublin City Council's first EPC and is actively involved in the promotion of EPC in Ireland.

Declan has worked with Codema since 2006. Declan was educated at UCD and DIT and holds an MSc in Sustainable Development, a certificate in Public Procurement and is a Project Management Professional (PMP). He has managed energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainability projects for the Dublin Local Authorities and at a European level. He leads the project management and development cell within Codema with oversight on projects, resourcing and applications.

Suzanne is Executive Manager of Codema's Awareness, Communications, and Engagement team and has been with Codema since 2009. She oversees all aspects of communications, including PR strategy, media management, event planning, and digital media. Suzanne led Codema's recent rebranding and digital refresh and played a key role in developing award-winning initiatives like Think Energy and the Home Energy Saving Kit. Before joining Codema, Suzanne worked in journalism and PR, including nearly five years at Newstalk 106-108FM. She holds a BA in Journalism, a Diploma in PR and Event Management, an Executive Diploma in Digital Marketing, and a Certificate in Internal Communications.

Ciarán leads Codema’s Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) area. RDI works to develop the evidence base for Dublin’s climate transition and explores best practice climate action case studies from European cities and energy agencies, collaborating widely on research and demonstration projects, to benefit Dublin’s transition. Before Codema, Ciarán worked in SEAI with a coordination role on the National Heat Study. Prior to that Ciarán worked for ESB Networks in various roles; modelling renewable connections, network design, smart metering, also participating in ESB’s innovation programme.

Ciarán has a bachelor's in mechanical engineering and a master's in energy systems engineering from UCD.

Conor joined the team in February 2022. He holds a BE in Biosystems Engineering from UCD, a MSc in Energy Management from DIT and is both a Certified Measurement & Verification Professional and a Certified Energy Manager. Before working at Codema, Conor was the Energy Credits Programme Manager in ESB Smart Energy Services. Conor also spent several years working at Crowley Carbon as the Measurement and Verification (M&V) Lead for North and South America. Before this, he worked as Energy Engineer with Modus Energy on delivery of M&V, S.I.426 audits and ISO 50001 implementation for Irish customers.
